The North Alabama Volkswagen Club would like to announce their 11th Annual Bug'n in July charity car show. Bug'n in July will be held July 24-25, 2010 in beautiful Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. Proceeds from our show will be donated to our sponsored charity, Crisis Services of North Alabama.
There'll be tons of activities for the whole family! Bug'n in July will feature dozens and dozens of beautiful vintage and custom Volkswagen vehicles from the classic Beetle to the Karmann Ghia and Bus and the infamous Engine Blow, sponsored by Airkooled Kustoms.
What's an Engine Blow you say? It's where we salvage a thrashed Volkswagen engine from a junkyard and try to get it running again using old parts. We don't machine anything or add new parts. Once it's running, we run it wide open till it dies for your enjoyment. Here's last year's engine blow:
UPDATE: We've outgrown our regular pavilion and will be moving across the street to the Spirit of America field. There'll be plenty of room this year for all our show guests and vendors, so don't miss out.
Point Mallard Park, hidden among North Alabama's wooded pines, is a 500-acre family park that features an 18 hole golf course on one of the South's best golf courses, a 25-acre wooded campground, America's first wave pool, and an indoor ice skating rink! Point Mallard's additional facilities include tennis courts, batting cages, hiking/jogging/biking trails, and a driving range. For more information on Point Mallard, please visit their website.
