Bug'n in July Charity Car Show

The North Alabama Volkswagen Club would like to announce their 10th Annual Bug'n in July charity car show. Bug'n in July will be held July 18-19, 2009 in beautiful Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. Proceeds from our show will be donated to our sponsored charity, Crisis Services of North Alabama.

There'll be tons of activities for the whole family! Bug'n in July will feature coloring for the kids, dozens and dozens of beautiful vintage and custom Volkswagen vehicles from the classic Beetle to the Karmann Ghia and Bus and the infamous Engine Blow, sponsored by Airkooled Kustoms.

What's an Engine Blow you say? It's where we salvage a thrashed Volkswagen engine from a junkyard and try to get it running again using old parts. We don't machine anything or add new parts. Once it's running, we run it wide open till it dies for your enjoyment. Here's last years engine blow:

This year the fun starts a little earlier, with a Movie Night! Join us on Friday night, July 17 for a family friendly VW movie at the show site. We'll have popcorn and soft drinks so if you're in town early, don't miss the show.
